Life’s Healing Choices

We’ve all been hurt by other people, we’ve hurt ourselves, and we’ve hurt others. And as a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up, or habit. But the question we all face is, where do we go from here? Life’s Healing Choices offers freedom from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits through eight healing choices that promise true happiness and life transformation. Using the Beatitudesof Jesus as a foundation, Senior Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church and John Baker, who was also a pastor at Saddleback, developed the eight choices shared in this book.

This study will require some introspection and homework for during the week. This looks like about an hour of reading and about the same for answering the questions in the workbook. Resources are included for use during the study and will be returned at the conclusion of the 12 weeks. You may order your own if you wish to keep it.

Co-Facilitators: Steve & Julie McCaughey, Wanda & Claus Burchert
When: Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm
Where: McCaughey’s Home (1504 Alder St.)

The Envy of Eve by Melissa B. Kruger

Seeking to find true contentment involves a journey with God. This journey can help answers some questions such as: What is truly at the heart of our desires? What happens when we see something we want? How do we rightly respond to a good desire? While desires in and of themselves are not bad or sinful The Envy of Eve guides us to understand how our desires grow into covetousness and what happens when this sin takes place in our hearts allowing the discontentment to bloom. As a community we will work through the root of the problem: an unbelief or mistrust of God’s sovereignty and goodness. (This is a book study and will require the purchase of the book.)

Co-Facilitators: Amber Rice & Cheryl Hambrey
When: 7:00 pm Thursday Evenings
