BLIND, DEAF & DUMB
How an unawareness of power and privilege hinders us from perceiving the Kingdom of God.
Throughout the gospels, Jesus would continually ask his followers if they had eyes to see or ears to hear when talking about the Kingdom of God. This weekend, we will be exploring how Power and Privilege make us blind, deaf, and dumb to the Kingdom of God. Without becoming aware of these blinders, we may miss out on the unfolding and revealed Kingdom of God in our midst.
with Guest Speaker BRET WIDMAN
Bret has been a Covenant pastor since 1992 and has served various churches. During that stint, he was on the faculty of Covenant Bible College (CBC) Canada where he and his wife raised their four daughters, making them all lay claim to being Canadian when introducing themselves. After serving local churches, teaching at Western Seminary, and serving on the Advisory Board of Micah ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary, Bret has been called to be the Director of CRUX at North Park University. CRUX is a new discipleship cohort for first year students at North Park and was modeled after CBC. The richness and depth of insight Breto received at CBC about discipleship serves him well in this new position.
